Congratulations to this year’s winner of the Dr. J Car Giveaway
Eric Yorty
Eric is one of the most hard working, humble and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He served in the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq where he was always volunteering to be the first tank on patrol. He would much rather have taken the brunt of the IED blasts than watch his brothers take them for him. He earned two Purple Hearts because of this. Even after his deployment, though, he has continued to help his brothers in arms. He is currently a volunteer instructor for the Cowboy Up! program by Horses for Heroes. This is a unique horsemanship, wellness and skill-set restructuring program based in Santa Fe, NM. He shows these men and women that they can take the skills they learned in the armed forces and reapply them in a ranching environment. Eric successfully completed the program himself and this truly allows him to set such a great example for the veterans returning to civilian life in New Mexico.
With all of that in mind, Eric’s truck is on it’s last leg. Because he lives in Albuquerque and is attending UNM, a reliable vehicle is vital for him to continue helping veterans and active duty military in Santa Fe and beyond. I hope you will consider Eric for this amazing opportunity. I can’t think of anyone else who is more deserving.
Merry Christmas!
